Healthy Hearts Plus II (HHP II) is a multi-service health education organization poised to foster social impacts for families in poverty in the City of Richmond.<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

HHP II mission incorporates a commitment to the growth of a person in the social, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being for total wellness. The vision is to provide health and wellness education, access to good nutrition, as well as prevention and intervention strategies which will advocate, preserve, and promote health to all participants, clients, and communites we serve.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Healthy Hearts Plus II develops culturally relevant curriculum to support health promotion programs for families of color, women, infants\/children, and fathers. We recognize that food & nutrition is an intersectional issue that affects early childhood development, education, healthcare, employment, the environment, and is impacted by the ecology of growing up in poverty. We educate families throughout Central Virginia, especially in low-income communities, on how to explore the educational and skill building activities centered around navigating health and nutrition benefits, reducing wasted food through streamlined buying and safe storage, using holistic nutrition strategies like gardening for physical activity and stress management, new recipes for healthy lifestyles, and composting for a healthy environment.<\/p>\n
